It was a brilliant sunny day. My daughter and me were running late for the nursery enjoying the sunshine, the song of the birds and all the beautiful flowers on our way. In laughter and joy we reached the nursery only to witness two ambulances on the parking lot. My heart started beating so hard that it was soon to break out through my chest. The emotion that overtook me was so overwhelming that my head hurt. What I learnt few moments later was that one of the staff had got an allergic reaction. She ordered lunch along with her colleagues but shortly after she experienced difficulties breathing. ALLERGIC…

Taking Steps: From SAHM to Coding Coach at Google UK’s Digital Garage
When my son was 1.5 years old, my part-time marketing role came to an end. I found myself torn between deciding whether to look for work or to stay at home and take care of him. What I wanted was to spend most of my days with my little boy. But if I did that, how would I stay professionally relevant in a fast-changing, software driven world? Over the next year, I pondered the challenge of retaining professional value as a SAHM (stay-at-home-mum). I had some work but mostly stayed in the role of mama, filling my days with playgroups, babyccinos, arts & crafts and all the usual things you…

PERSONAL REVIEW OF THE FITBIT CHARGE2 WATCH
For the past year, one of my favorite sports accessories has been the Fitbit Charge2 watch. At least 9 hours of my day are on the move and before I took my watch I was addicted to the Shealth program on my phone. I was excited to see how many miles I had walked/ran, how many calories I had burned, what days of the week I had been the most active, and so on. Today I am absolutely inseparable with my Fitbit. I use it for a variety of statistics and features, both on the watch itself and on the phone app. Here I am sharing some of the key…

HOW SCOTLAND FOSTERS AND PROFESSIONALLY DEVELOPS MUMS WHO (WANT TO) WORK FROM HOME
One of my well preserved childhood memories tastes of a hot chocolate and a gaze dreamily attached to the calendar under the old wooden wall clock. It was a relic from my great-grandmother, and as a majestic pillar of time and space reminded of its presence every hour with a ding dong. That morning I dreamt to be older. Under the veil of naivity I was looking for freedom and madness in the perspective of my 16 year old self – magnificent and omnipotent as the beautiful grand-grandma’s clock. Nostalgically, I go back to that morning just to see the reflection of a mature woman in the mirror. One who…

PLANNING THE DREAM HOLIDAY
And here comes that wonderful moment of the year when all senses awaken and the consciousness begins to paint colorful pictures of the dream holiday. I love traveling and I do believe that of all the books in the world, the most exciting stories are sealed in between the pages of my passport. Planning the holiday itself, however, is one of the most annoying things for me. I always aim at transfering all trip details to my husband, while with the dedication of a toddler to their new toy, I arrange our luggage. Despite my strategic attempts to delegate the planning responsibilities as per the interests of everyone at home,…

AT SUNSET
251 meters height, 174 meters prominence. These are the dimensions of my pride. The day began with the usual sneaking into my bed, cuddling giggles foreshadowing our Netflix break for Peppa Pig and some hot chocolate under the duvet. This idyll ended up with a breathless flinging of limbs in a desperate attempt to find two identical socks followed by a dramatic peeling and cutting of one apple and few fingers for the aftrenoon snack. The last day of Fringe’s performances required our full concentration to get dressed and get out on time. Alas, this has not been an easy task lately. A quick shower, doing the laundry, ritually arranging…

MY TOP 5 ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION IDEAS
If you have been with your partner long enough you have certainly given almost everything you can think of as a gift. This makes the situation especially difficult if you have an occasion for which you want to make a surprise. Even more so if you have been together for 17 years, as is my case. The past few years have been a complete apocalypse with regards to employing my creative muse not because of lack of love, attention or commitment rather because there is nothing I had not done, bought or made with my own hands for the past 17 years. From watches with personal engraving to surprising trips,…

EVERYTHING WE SHOULD NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT
Moving to the UK I was terrified by the thought that I would be left without my tribe – my beloved girls. Those with whom I shared the days, every emotional typhoon, every dream, every success and failure, every stupid purchase and every Thursday night at the Beach Bar downtown. Sometimes I get attached so deeply to people that separation hurts like a physical wound from a natural birth. At the very beginning I was frequently flying to Sofia. I used to spend lots of time in all types of social media where we were active with the girls, throwing remote feasts sipping our coffee together early…
