The covid reality rearranged our lives, goals and dreams in an instant and in doing so smashed into pieces the harmonious lives we were living. It made it clear that being adaptive and resilient is the new norm. I have never considered maintaining my life balance to be of such an utmost importance before. Being in peace with myself allows me to be a better mom and wife, adequate support and ray of hope for my beloved ones. Wondering how to achieve it? Let me tell you about 8 things you can do to maintain a life balance.

 

What’s life balance and why is it so important?

It is the harmony between all aspects of life: work, health, family, self-care, physical needs… Finding it is a process, a way of living, rather than a final goal which you once reach and forever have. We all have moments of chaos and moments of balance, peace and relaxation. Think of finding balance as a practice, because as long as you keep practicing, you keep getting closer to it. And regardless of how difficult and uncheavable that might look like, there are ceratin ways through which you can maintain it.

 

8 easy steps to maintain a life balance

Unplug – Disconnect on the weekend or early in the mornings. Give your brain the much deserved rest.

Trim – Learn to say NO to everything that is either non-essential or doesn’t add value to your life.

Stay healthy – We are far more productive and happier when we get enough sleep, eat healthier and exercise.

Let go – Avoid toxic people and events. Surround yourself with positive, suportive, can-do people.

Get ME time – Meditate, write, stretch, do yoga (this is my secret weapon) or do absolutely nothing

Treat yourself – Get a pedicure or facial. A glass of wine or tea, scented candle and flowers can do the trick.

Connect – Make a date with your significant one, play a game with your kid, Viber a friend.

Have fun – laugh, joke, play. Nothing makes us feel better as fast as a good old fashioned belly laugh.

Maintaining a life balance is like finding happiness: there is no right way to do it. Just your own way, your efforts and your time. Like the moon, you are also shifting into your next phase 🌑🌘🌗🌖🌕
