TOP THINGS TO DO WITH KIDS THIS AUTUMN BREAK

Finally, the October break is here. I know how challenging it could be for us, parents, to find interesting, engaging and challenging activities for our kids so that we can enrich their days with lots interactions, learning and fun. That is why I made a list of places that I plan to bring my daughter to. Indeed, not everything is within the city boundaries but this is a great opportunity to explore and go on adventures!

Royal Botanics – go for a Halloween trail, engage in Santa Claus ornaments worshop or simplu enjoy the serenity of the gardens and gather pinecones and use them for some crafts at home and pre-Xmas decorations.

Hermitage of Braid local Nature Reserve – great for walking, cycling, exploring, picnic and paddling in the river.

Sunday Funday at The Yard – nice playground with various activities for kids.

Dalkeith Country Park – run off some steam at the epic Fort Douglas, go for a walk and picnic and the enjoy beauty all around.

Hillend – have you tried tubing?

Craigie’s Farm – pick your own Pumpkin, explore the shop with delicious local food and play on the lovely playground outside.

Wonder World Soft Play – spacious, challenging and energy draining place that my daughter truly adores!

Dynamic Earth – there are a couple of amazing events related to the Moon, Dinosaurs, physics and geology!

Gravity Active Centre – a Halloween Spooktacular or just jumping or rocks climbing. An amazing place to get active!

Museum of Edinburgh – go for super trails or just get lost and explore on your own paste. There is so much to see and learn at this museum.

Mary Kings Close – go beneath the streets and discover Edinburgh’s ‘hidden history’.

Lauriston Castle – check out their ‘Spooky Castle’ event!
